| Start Amtgard at 2:00pm on Saturdays at Kanapaha Memorial Park on SW 75th St. in Gainesville, FL. We also play Bel/Dag practice from Noon to 2:00 pm on Saturdays (same location). Please check our facebook page (Kestrel Keep: Amtgard in Gainesville) to make sure that we are not traveling to play before you head out (we do that about twice a month). Directions to park: from I-75 going north turn west on Archer Road. Turn right on SW 75th St. (Tower Road). Turn Right at Kanapaha Memorial Park. Drive to back of the park. We play in the big open field. From I-75 going south turn west on Newberry Road. Take next right onto SW 75h St. (Tower Road). Drive until you see Kanapaha Memorial Park on left. | The Shire of Skywatch Meets on Saturdays, from 2:00pm until dark. at CAL YOUNG PARK (800 T and P Lane, Abilene, TX) Look for us near the playground, or the gazebo. ABILENE HAS BEEN A HOST HOME TO MANY CHAPTER STARTS FOR AMTGARD, with it's most successful attempt as the Freehold of Citadel in 1992. However, in 2013, a group of Amtgardians originally from the chapter of Irongate (Lubbock TX) found themselves desiring to resuscitate Abilene Amtgard. After a year of social networking, and one very persuasive speech given at Texas State Technological College, the group had it's first meeting on March 9, 2013. Skywatch hosted an Inaugural Celebration the last weekend in April to commemorate it's chapter's vitality,with a turnout of 120 sign-ins - many of which were from the sponsoring Kindgom of the Golden Plains, but most were local participants. Skywatch is also financially supported by the charitable sponsorship of The Gathering Place - a local gamestore for trading card games, role-playing, and table-top strategy. |
